1Truth/Day
I’m on the table, spread like a Christmas dinner. I’m plucked, peppered, and roasted with a lemon shoved up my ass. I got sprigs of rosemary under my skin. Eat me up. Fill your boots with my words. Use a knife, your fingers, teeth, and tear meat from the bone.
I am mana cascading from heaven. I am honey in the comb. I’m the salty sweet oyster in its shell. I’m a ripe avocado on a tree. The nice thing about truth is you can eat it all day. You’re not gonna get fat from mowing down on truths. Your arteries ain’t gonna clog up with gunk. Your waistband ain’t gonna grow by five inches.
The truth keeps you alive but only just. Lies are tryna kill you all the time. What’s the worst, most damaging lie you were ever told? What’s the one lie that still fucks you up?
You don’t still think the world is round do you or that Jeff Epstein killed himself or the Titanic really sunk or that Elvis is dead or Tupac is dead or Biggie is dead or aliens don’t walk among us or priests aren’t all paedos or Bill Gates isn’t really a lizard or your neighbours aren’t all tryna kill you or there’s no a shady cabal of billionaire fucks ruling the world from an underwater island or we never really landed on Mars or the moon even exists or God does not or you and me aren’t cut from one cloth or you’re not a brain in a vat held at 37 degrees.
You don’t still believe people are born good do you or that we’re not just caged monkeys repressing our true selves in order to survive on this spinning chunk of coagulated space dust, slowly dissolving back into nothing. Surely you don’t think love triumphs over evil or freedom from tyranny is a universal human right?
You shouldn’t believe anything anyone tells you, least of all me. Every word outta everyone’s mouth is one giant lie. My lies taste sweet, savoury, and umami. There’s hot lie oil running down your chin. Mm-mm. Doesn’t that taste good? Way easier to swallow than dry crusty truths. No one wants truth when there’s lies on the table. Unfortunately (not really) it’s my job to make sure you get at least a little truth every day.
One truth a day keeps depression away. One truth a day keeps oppression away. One truth a day keeps the douchebags away. One truth a day brings me about four inches closer to you.
